A Bit About Us!

With over 15 years of combined experience, creating a positive relationship between you and your dog through training has always been the main goal. Both Miriam and Noah are knowledgeable, patient, and caring instructors who are dedicated to teaching you how to become the best dog owner you can be! By using fair and effective training methods, they help eliminate the problem behaviors and encourage the desired behaviors everyone is looking for in a canine companion.

Miriam graduated from CATCH Canine University in 2017, giving her a solid understanding of canine behavior and training AND making her a Certified Dog Trainer. Miriam enjoys working with puppies and young dogs to help shape their behavior as they grow into adults. She is currently working with her personal dogs in conformation, obedience, rally, and nose work trials. She is an AKC Approved Evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen test. She offers private lessons and group classes on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. She takes appointments for consultations on Fridays.

Noah works with primarily adult dogs through group classes and private lessons and specializes in behavior modification for dogs with more severe problem behaviors. He is currently working with his personal dogs in obedience and rally trials. He offers consultations all day on Thursday and reserves private lessons and group classes on Fridays and Saturdays.

Miriam and Noah started More for Your K9 with the intention of providing more education, opportunities, and commitment to the dog owners they see. They pride themselves in going above and beyond to help dogs owners reach their goals. They work with all breeds and ages of dogs.

Our Experience

Starting in 2011

2013 - 2016

2017

Miriam started working as a pet care assistant where she would help with pet sitting duties for owners who were out of town but couldn't take their dogs with them. This included feeding, watering, assisting with medications, and exercise time. During this same time, Miriam was also a grooming assistant. Working with a groomer, she would help restrain dogs for nail trims and learned basic grooming techniques like washing and drying a dog, nail trims, and making grooming visits as stress-free as possible while the pet was getting groomed

Miriam and Noah started working at a boarding, grooming, and daycare facility where they managed groups of playing dogs, took care of the boarding dogs and helped schedule grooming appointments.  At times, this facility would house over 100 dogs during the busy travel seasons. Both Miriam and Noah were responsible for overseeing play times between the boarding and daycare dogs which included evaluating each individual dog to find a good play buddy, constantly monitoring interactions between dogs in a large group, and deescalate any altercations that arose between dogs safely.

Graduating CATCH Canine University as a Certified Dog Trainer, Miriam then went on to develop a Training and Play Program designed to help younger dogs learn to interact appropriately with other dogs in a controlled environment. Also in this program, the enrolled dogs would receive obedience training to the standards of the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Test. It was an extremely successful program, allowing Miriam and Noah to help dogs do better in a social setting and behave better within the home!

2018 - 2020

While continuing professional training education through seminars, online certification courses, and the continuous improvement of handling skills, Noah and Miriam started working intensively with clients in private lessons and group classes at the same facility. They gained extensive knowledge about behavior, development, and training methods that allowed them to make educated decisions on how to help each individual client they worked with. As their training programs became more popular, they quickly outgrew the training space they occupied and decided they needed to open their own dedicated training space. In December of 2020, More for Your K9 opened!
